Sirkusfysio lecture (in Finnish)
Friday 29.7.2022 klo 13.00-14.00 @ Hermannin koulu
Atte Niittykangas – Sirkusfysio
“Olen 2013 valmistunut ja jo maailmalle ennättänyt fysioterapeutti, jonka intohimona on ihmisliike. Tämän arkisen aiheen parissa koen edelleen viikottain oivalluksia ja innostun sen tutkimisesta jatkuvasti.
Fysioterapeuttina on tärkeää erottaa jokaisen asiakkaan kohdalla hänelle olennaisimmat asiat.

Inspired by Fighting Monkey
Friday 29.7.2022 klo 14.00-15.30 @ Hermannin koulu
The teacher Marko speaks English!
Movement, movement patterns, movement situations. Rhythm, coordination, communication. Shapes and shapelesness, flow and multidimensionality. Clearness and chaos. Learning and teaching. Frustration and joy.

RISA – partnering workshop

“Our aim is to break down existing forms and techniques and concentrate more to listening and attending
to paths of our own inner energy and physical yearnings.
Which way does the inner movement wish to unwind and with how much force, how do we relate it to each other?
We want to explore what is to be found when we are acting stronger through our own inner impulses, sensitizing senses and by reaching to our full extent, simultaneously facing resisting forces and reciprocal conflicts. Would that mean having to reject techniques and reasoning, that we have practiced before, in order to dig deeper, or will we rise upon those and through their assets find new levels?
We want to create movement with powerful content without making concessions to wavering physical limits.”
Saturday 30.7.2022 klo 11.00-13.00 @ Hermannin koulu
RISA – Seamless weave of dance and acrobatics, a combination of two different physical artists and
the movement language that they have created together. Between the artists dance is reaching out in new dimensions, meets acrobatics and transforms into something new.
The collaboration of the duet started in 2018 when they focused on exploring and developing their own personalized movement language and established RISA.
The base of RISA’s work is dance acrobatics that has become one of the characteristics of contemporary circus. Saku is among the first circus artists majoring in dance acrobatics in a higher education institution. Based on this, RISA has started to develop their pair acrobatics into a new direction which feels welcome and refreshing in the fields of dance and circus and opens up a new chapter in dance acrobatics.
The name RISA is based on the artists forenames and additionally has inspired them to do things “risaisesti” (in a ragged manner)
in their own way.

Soif Totale
Sunday 31.7.2022 klo 11.00-12.30 + free jam @ Teijon Urheilutalo (sportshall)
Main disciplines 1,5 h + free jam, choose your discipline
Chinese Pole (Beatriz Duarte & Julian Blum)
Advanced workshop – people who already have knowledge/basics in Chinese pole.
NB: Shoes, jeans and a sweater that protects your arms and stomach.
Beatriz Duarte (Portuguese) and Julian Blum (German) met at ESAC – a superior school of circus arts in Belgium – and studied there together for three years, both specialized in Chinese pole. There they developed a lot of knowledge and research, both individually and as a duo on the pole. They also performed a trio Chinese pole act in FIRCO, a circus festival in Madrid, in 2021 and won the circontinentes prize. Today they are part of the company Soif Totale, which they created alongside 16 other people.
With this workshop we invite interested participants to dive into a more technical experience, one that is focused on body awareness, physical liberation and intimacy with the pole.
Handbalance (Sofia Enríquez Martinez & Elise Martin)
You should already be able to hold a handstand in order to follow this class.
Would you like to learn some new shapes on your hands ?
In this class you will discover different ways of moving and of holding poses whilst in a handstand using a combination of strength, control and flexibility. Different arms and hand positions on the floor will be explored as well.
Two teachers with different approaches and tips will help you advance in your personal handstand journey!
Acrodance (Alix Schils)

All levels
Freshly graduated from ESAC, I’ve been doing acrobatics for almost my whole life. I would like to share a new approach to acrobatics, linking dynamics with slower movements, working on the rhythm of your body but also small details you’re not always aware of when you move ! All of this so as to give you new research pathways, new ways of moving and new ways to enjoy your own style of movement !
Aerial Hoop (Ana Julia Moro)

Intermediate/advanced level (knowledge of basic aerial hooping required). Maximum 5 people. NB: Please bring a long-sleeved shirt or protection for your arms.
Ana Julia Moro started practicing circus at the Londrina Circus School in Brazil at the age of 9. At the age of 17, she moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she entered the National Circus School of Brazil to pursue her dream of becoming a circus artist. But it was not enough to finish this school, she wanted to explore the world of circus in a new continent.
And so for 3 years, Ana travelled between France, Italy and Portugal, doing internships and studying in schools such as Vertigo (IT) and Salto (PT). In 2018, she was admitted to the Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirque( ESAC) in Belgium, from which she graduated in 2021 specialized in aerial hoop.
Today she is a part of Soif Totale, a circus company she co-created alongside 17 other ESAC students in Brussels.
This workshop provides an introduction to dynamic and balancing techniques of aerial hoop. Together we will learn to listen to the body’s rhythm and to minimize physical effort in technical movements.
Aerial Straps (Andrea González)

Beginner to intermediate level. Maximum 4 people.
*Suitable for all aerial artists with intermediate level in their discipline. (Silks , Rope, Trapeze, etc…)(Example: ideally Inversion/Straddle up on two arms (straight arms, straight legs)
Andrea González, Graduated from ESAC Brussels, member of Cie Soif Totale.
The aim of this workshop aims to give a good technical grounding in working with aerial straps. I would like to teach more natural ways of moving in the air and to inspire aerial artists to integrate this newly acquired awareness into their own artistic approach.
Juggling (Hugo Pernel, Ruben Olave, Carlos Barquero)

This workshop is accessible for all levels; from amateur to experienced.
Target Objects: Balls and Clubs
In the program :
* How to open your approach to juggling with variations called “Body Throws” with 1, 2 and 3 objects * An introduction to rhythmic juggling
